What are the Georgia Lemon Laws?

Answer:
Georgia Lemon Laws protect consumers against
new vehicles not conforming to manufacturers' express warranties.  Georgia's Lemon Laws are quite comprehensive and spell out several important details regarding vehicle eligibility and time constraints for filing for protection under them.

Georgia Lemon Laws state that consumers must file for protection within 12 months or 12,000 miles of delivery of the motor vehicle.

As with most state Lemon Laws, the consumer must first allow reasonable attempts to be made to bring the vehicle into conformity before manufacturers must refund money or replace vehicles, and the consumer must file an official complaint to the manufacturer within the express warranty limitations or other time constraints, as spelled out in the Lemon Laws. Failure to follow the details in the Lemon Laws could jeopardize protection under them.

Georgia Lemon Laws are described in the Georgia Code as follows:

Georgia Lemon Law
GA Code 10-1-780
Motor Vehicle Warranty Rights Act

Georgia Lemon Laws do not specify any coverage for used vehicles.
