What can you tell me about Dodge vehicles?

Answer:
Dodge vehicles are one of
the Daimler/Chrysler Company’s cornerstone brands, and Dodge vehicles are truly a force to be reckoned with by the competition.  Begun in 1914 by brothers John and Harris Dodge under the name of the Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company, the company ultimately became part of Chrysler’s lineup in 1928.

Prior to establishing their Motor Vehicle Company, the Dodge brothers operated a “Bicycle and Machine Company” manufacturing business in Ontario, Canada, which they moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1901.

In 1902, Henry Ford received financial assistance from the Dodge brothers to help him get his automobile company started, and through 1913 Ford vehicles utilized Dodge-manufactured running gear; chassis, suspension, engines, brakes, transmissions and more.

In 1914, the Dodge brothers started up their vehicle manufacturing company, and built 249 cars in their first year of production.  By 1917, the company was building trucks as well as cars, primarily for military needs of World War I, and continued for commercial markets after the war.

In 1925, Dillon Reed & Company purchased the Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company for $148 million, which was considered to be the largest cash transaction in history up to then.

In 1928, Dillon Reed & Company sold the company to Chrysler Corporation, and since then, the Dodge name has represented a desirable line of cars, trucks, vans and SUV’s.

Dodge vehicles have become synonymous with quality and innovation, and are well received globally today.   Dodge vehicles run the gamut from small, fuel-efficient commuter vehicles to heavy-hauling, over-the-road commercial truck rigs.  From muscle-cars to puddle-jumpers, there is a Dodge vehicle to fill the need.
