What is a Biodiesel?

Answer:
Biodiesel is a type of diesel fuel made from
vegetables oils, animals fats, and recycled cooking grease. It burns cleaner than petroleum-based diesel fuel and is renewable since it is derived from plant and animal products.

Most diesel-powered vehicles can run on 100% biodiesel, but its long-terms effects on engine performance are still being studied. Manufacturers of diesel vehicles have approved use of biodiesel in concentrations of 5% or less. Drivers in some European countries have reportedly run their cars on 100% biodiesel for years without incident. The fuel is not yet available to U.S. consumer on any practical scale.
