What is E85?

Answer:
E85 is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.
Ethanol is a liquid fuel made from domestic grain products such as corn, wheat, and barley. The U.S. Department of Energy classifies E85 as an alternative fuel.

E85 produces less air pollution when burned than gasoline and is largely renewable since the ethanol component is derived from plant life.

Flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) that run on both gasoline and E85 have been on the market for many years, selling mainly to fleets and government agencies. About 4 million FFVs are on the road today, although most are powered by gasoline since E85 is not as widely available. Use of E85 will become more practical as the number of pumping stations increases nationwide.
