Ford F-Series, which has held the title for the past 26 years. Ford moved almost 800,000 of these trucks during 2006.

The Chevrolet Silverado pickup also sold strongly at 636,969 units. These perennial top sellers were followed by the Dodge Ram from Daimler-Chrysler with sales of 364,177. The GMC Sierra, a slightly upscale twin of the Silverado, came in fourth with just under 200,000 copies. The only imported pickup on the list, the Toyota Trundra, achieved sales of about 125,000 for the year.
