What are the Hawaii Lemon Laws?

Answer:
The Aloha State of Hawaii Lemon Laws protect
consumers against new vehicles not conforming to manufacturers' express warranties.  Hawaii's Lemon Laws provide consumers with that extra bit of confidence that such a major purchase as a new motor vehicle is protected, and in Hawaii, consumers have 24 months or 24,000 miles of that protection.

As with most state Lemon Laws, the consumer must allow reasonable attempts to be made to bring the vehicle into conformity before manufacturers must refund money or replace vehicles, and the consumer must file an official complaint to the manufacturer within the express warranty limitations or other time constraints, which is 24 months or 24,000 miles under Hawaii Lemon Laws.

Hawaii Lemon Laws are described in the Hawaii Code as follows:

Hawaii Motor Vehicle Express Warranty Enforement (Lemon Law)
Chapter 481i

Hawaii Lemon Laws do not specify any coverage for used vehicles.
