What are the Illinois Lemon Laws?

Answer:
Illinois, birthplace of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant,
and the 21st State to be admitted to the Union, has Lemon Laws that are pretty much like other Lemon Laws regarding what vehicles are covered and what processes must be followed by consumers who wish to file a claim under the laws.

The Illinois Lemon Laws are described as:

Illinois (IL) Lemon Law Statutes
Chapter 815 Sec. 380
"New Vehicle Buyer Protection Act"

Illionois Lemon Laws cover consumers against damages resulting from claims that a new motor vehicle is out of compliance with express manufacturer warranties.

Consumers must report such non-compliance issues to the manufacturer within one year or 12,000 miles.  Consumers must allow attempts to repair and bring the vehicle into compliance before the manufacturer must refund money or replace the vehicle.

Illinois Lemon Laws do not cover used vehicles, motorcycles or boats.
