What are the Massachusetts Lemon Laws?

Answer:
Massachusetts, the Bay State, has Lemon Laws that protect
consumers against damages resulting from motor vehicles not complying with manufacturer's express warranties.

Described as:
New Vehicles:  Massachusetts (MA) Lemon Law
Chapter 90, Section 7N
Used Vehicles: Chapter 90: Section 7N1/4

Massachusetts Lemon Laws provide protection for both new and used motor vehicles not complying with express warranties, under separate laws.

The Lemon Laws covering used motor vehicles includes sales between private parties as well as between dealer and consumer.

Private sellers are fully expected to divulge any known defects of motor vehicles being sold to private buyers.  If a defect not previously disclosed by the seller presents itself within 30 days of purchase, the buyer is entitled to protection under the Massachusetts Lemon Laws.

Massachusetts also has a "Lemon Aid Law", which allows motor vehicle purchase contracts to be cancelled for up to fourteen days if the vehicle fails an inspection performed by an authorized inspection station.  Such inspection must be made within seven days of purchase.
