What are the Nevada State Driving Laws? |
|
Answer:
Nevada has a seatbelt law that requires the Nevada uses a demerit point system to help identify unsafe drivers. All traffic law violations are assigned a point value, and when you are convicted of one, those points go on your driving record. If you have 12 or more points in 12 months, your license will be suspended. Some common point values include: · Speeding – 1 – 6 points (depending on speed) · Failure to dim headlights – 2 points · Failure to yield – 4 points · Careless driving – 6 points You must always yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle that is signaling with lights or sirens. If you can, pull over to the side of the road and allow the vehicle to pass. If the vehicle is stopped, drive to a lane that is not adjacent to the emergency vehicle if possible. You must always abide by the posted speed limit when driving in Nevada. Business and residential areas have a speed limit of 25 mph. When you are heading into town from a highway, your speed will need to be 45 mph. Urban freeways and rural highways have a speed limit of 65 mph. Interstate freeways that are outside of town have a 70 mph speed limit. If you do not follow the posted speed limit, you will be ticketed and fined. You will also have points added to your record. Nevada has no cell phone law. Trackback(0)
