New Mexico Lemon Laws protect consumers against Described as: New Mexico (NM) Lemon Law Statues NM Statutes Chapter 57, Article 16A New Mexico Lemon Laws require consumers to lodge official complaints of alleged vehicle non-conformity within the manufacturer's express warranty period or one year, whichever comes earlier. Consumers are also required to allow that a reasonable number of attempts to repair non-conformities before manufacturers must replace the vehicle or refund purchase monies. New Mexico Lemon Laws do not cover used motor vehicles, but other state laws may. Many states have consumer protection statutes governing the sale or transfer of potentially unsafe or damaged property, including used motor vehicles. Under New Mexico Lemon Laws, if a vehicle being repaired for non-conformities is out of service for 30 days or longer within express warranty or one year periods, it is deemed that the "reasonable number of attempts" has been met. In addition, if the same non-conforming condition has been repaired (or attempted) four times within the same periods it is accepted as meeting the intent of the definition. Trackback(0)
