What are the North Dakota Lemon Laws?

Answer:
North Dakota Lemon Laws, like the Lemon Laws
of most states, protect consumers from damages resulting from new vehicle non-conformity to manufacturer's express warranties.

Described as:
North Dakota Lemon Law
North Dakota Century Code Sections 51-07-16 through 51-07-22

The North Dakota Lemon Laws are prefaced by a "Summary of Law", which contains some interesting highlights and straight forward advice.  For example, this summary clearly reminds consumers that the intent of the law is to protect against significant issues, not things like a new vehicle's clock not keeping incorrect time or an annoying rattle in the dashboard.  While those items are perhaps important and should be addressed, the North Dakota Lemon Laws are intended for bigger things.

Consumers are required to file official complaint of new vehicle non-conformity within the manufacturer's express warranty period or one year, whichever is earlier.  Consumers are also expected to allow a reasonable number of attempts to be made to repair non-conformities before manufacturers must replace the vehicle or refund purchase monies.

Under North Dakota Lemon Laws, if the same repairs to a new vehicle are attempted within the warranty period three or more times, or if the vehicle is out of service for 30 days or more during the warranty or one year periods, the intent of "reasonable number of attempts" will be deemed to be met.
