What are the South Dakota Lemon Laws?

Answer:
South Dakota Lemon Laws, like most State Lemon
Laws, protect consumers against damages resulting from new motor vehicle non-conformity to manufacturer's express warranties.

Described as:
South Dakota Lemon Law Statutes
Title 32, Chapter 32-6D-1 - 11

Under South Dakota Lemon Laws, consumers must file official complaints of new motor vehicle non-conformity within one year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.

South Dakota Lemon Laws also specify that a manufacturer's obligation to repair non-conformities does not extend beyond 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs earliest.

As with most Lemon Laws, the South Dakota Lemon Laws require consumers to allow a reasonable number of attempts to repair non-conformities before manufacturers must replace the vehicle or refund purchase monies.

South Dakota Lemon Laws also provide that if the same non-conformity has been repaired (or attempted) four or more times, or if the vehicle was out of service for for a cumulative total of 30 days or more, the intent of "reasonable number of attempts to repair" will be deemed as being met.
