What are the Utah Lemon Laws?

Answer:
The Utah Lemon Laws are governed by Utah Codes and Rules,
and provide protection for consumers against new motor vehicle non-conformity to manufacturer's express warranties.

Described as:
Utah Administrative Code -- Utah Code -- Title 13 -- Chapter 20 -- New Motor Vehicle Warranties Act.
Utah Administrative Code
-- Rule R152-20 -- New Motor Vehicle Warranties.

Under the Utah Lemon Laws, consumers are required to file complaints of new motor vehicle non-conformity within the period covered by the manufacturer's express warranties or one year, whichever is earliest.

Consumers are expected to allow a reasonable number of attempts to repair non-conformities before manufacturers must replace the vehicle or refund purchase monies under Utah Lemon Laws.

Utah Lemon Laws also allow that the intent for "reasonable number of attempts" may be deemed as being met if the non-conformity condition has been repaired (or attempted) four or more times, or if the vehicle is out of service for a cumulative total of 30 days or more.  In each case, time constraints apply under the Utah Lemon Laws.
