How can I renew my Minnesota Drivers License?

Answer:
To renew your Minnesota driver’s license,
you will have to visit the nearest Driver and Vehicle Services location.

If you are 21 years old or older, you will pay $21.50 for your renewal. Drivers who are under 21 will pay $9. Your license will expire on your birthday every four years.

When you renew you will have to pass a vision test. The Driver and Vehicle Services will also take a new photograph of you. You will have to surrender your old license when you renew.

If you would like to have the renewal forms mailed to you, write to:

Driver and Vehicle Services
445 Minnesota St.
St. Paul, MN 55101

You will still need to visit the DVS in person after filling out the forms.
