How can I renew my New Jersey Drivers License?

Answer:
To renew your New Jersey driver’s license,
you will have to apply in person at a Motor Vehicle Commission office in your area. You can renew your license any time in the six months before it expires. Your license will be good for four years.

New Jersey has a six-point identity verification program in place to protect drivers against identity theft. You can read the brochure about this process at this link: http://www.state.nj.us/ .

Basically, you will need to bring the following with you to the MVC:

· Primary ID

· Secondary ID

· Total of 6 points worth of ID (see brochure for point values)

· Proof of address

If you do not have the required documents, you will not be able to renew, so please check the list carefully before you head to the MVC. You will need to pay $24 to renew your license.
