How can I renew my New Mexico Drivers License?

Answer:
Your New Mexico driver’s license will
be good for either four or eight years. You can renew any time within the 90 days before your license expires.

You are also given a 30-day grace period after the expiration date in which you can renew your license.

You will need to renew in person at the Motor Vehicle Division office in your area. Besides your expiring license, you will need one other form of ID, such as your Social Security card.

You can see the list of acceptable forms of ID at this link: http://www.tax.state.nm.us/pubs/mvdiddoclist.pdf .

When you renew, the examiner may ask you to retake the vision test. You will pay $16 for a four-year renewal and $32 for an eight-year renewal.
