Your first New York driver’s license will The license can be renewed for four, eight, or ten years. You can renew in person, through the mail, or online. However, you must pass a vision test, so if you do not renew in person you will need to visit an eye doctor. The renewal fee is $50 for a Class D license and $58 for a Class M license for eight years. When you renew online, your new license will come in the mail after at least four weeks. To renew by mail, you will also have to provide the Eye Test Report (http://www.nysdmv.com/forms/mv619.pdf ) completed by an eye care professional. If you are qualified to renew through the mail, the renewal notice will come with the renewal application. Mail this along with the $50 or $58 renewal fee and Eye Test Report to: DMV License Production Bureau P.O. Box 2688-ESP Albany, NY 12220 You will receive your new license after at least four weeks.
