How can I renew my Rhode Island Drivers License?

Answer:
As long as you are under the age of 70, your Rhode Island
driver’s license will be valid for five years. When it is time to renew, the DMV will send you a postcard as a reminder.

Take this postcard or our current license to the DMV to renew. The cost to renew if you are under 68 is $30. Senior citizens who are over 68 only pay $8 to renew.

You will need to provide the DMV with your Social Security number. You will be given a temporary license after you renew while you wait for your new license to appear in the mail. If you are filing a change of address, be sure to bring proof of your new address.
