How can I renew my Tennessee Drivers License?

Answer:
Tennessee issues driver’s licenses for

five-year periods. The license will expire on your birthday. You will have no grace period, so be sure to renew your license before the expiration date. You can renew in person, online, or through the mail.

To renew online, visit https://www.tennesseeanytime.org/tndlr/ and fill in your information. As long as your license does not have a renewal sticker on the back and you have at lest three weeks before the expiration date, you can renew online. You will have to pay the renewal fee via credit card.

You can renew by mail if you are not living in the state when it is time to renew. To renew by mail, send the following to the Department of Safety:

· Full name

· Driver’s license number

· Birthday

· Two documents showing proof of address (copies that have been notarized)

· Current address (where you want to have the license mailed)

· Money order or check for fee

· Document verifying the reason you cannot renew in person, such as a copy of your military ID card
