How do I transfer a car title in-state and out-of-state in Nevada?

Answer:
The Nevada DMV provides an easy-to-follow newcomer’s
guide on its website.

To obtain a Nevada vehicle registration—required within 60 days—go to a full-service DMV office, where you need to submit proof of liability insurance to the specified limits; an emissions inspection report (for residents in the Las Vegas and Reno areas only); your current registration and license plates; current title (unless held by lien holder); and a vehicle identification number inspection report.

The VIN inspection report will be used to grant your Nevada title.

To transfer titles of privately purchased in-state vehicles, you need a properly endorsed title from the seller; a bill of sale; and an odometer disclosure. Title transfers can also be completed at a full-service DMV office.
