What are the Colorado Drivers License Requirements?

You will have to pass three tests to get your Colorado driver’s license.

These are as follows

·    Vision screening
·    Basic written test
·    Driving test

The fee for a Colorado license varies, depending on age, but for teens it is $25.60.

Whether you are applying for a permit or a license, you must have a birth certificate, Social Security card, proof of residence, and an Affidavit of Liability (parental consent form) if you are under 18 with you when you apply. Teens must hold an instructional permit for 12 months before they can get a driver’s license. Also, any applicant applying for a driver’s license must be at least 16 years old. Drivers must take a driver’s education program and complete either 6 hours of on the road training with a licensed instructor, or 12 hours with the parent or guardian, before they can apply for the license. This requirement is waived for applicants who are over 21.
