Georgia drivers must complete two tests · Written test · Driving test The fee for a Georgia driver’s license is $20, and an instructional permit costs $10. Learner’s permits are allowed for those who are 15 years old. Applicants must be 16 before applying for a Class D or Class M license. All applicants must present a birth certificate or other form of ID, Social Security number, proof of residency, and the money for the fees when applying. Additionally, all drivers, no matter what their age, must bring proof that they have completed a driver’s education course that included 20 hours of supervised driving with 6 hours of night driving. The driver’s education course can be replaced by 40 hours of supervised driving. Teens applying for their first license will have to also bring a Certificate of Attendance, which shows that they are enrolled in school, and an ADAP card indicating that they completed the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program.
