What are the Idaho Vehicle Registration and Title Requirements?

To title and register a vehicle in Idaho, you

will need to bring the following documents to the county assessor’s office:

· Odometer disclosure statement

· Bill of sale

· Affidavit of VIN Inspection

· Power of Attorney form, if applicable

· Previous title on the vehicle

· Proof of insurance

· Title application

You must title and register the vehicle within 30 days of purchase. Titles can be completed in the mail or in person.

The fee for a title transfer is $8. You will also pay between $24 and $46 to register the vehicle. Finally, you will have to pay sales tax for the vehicle you purchased, based on the sale price.
