What are the Illinois Drivers License Requirements?

Answer:
The state of Illinois requires drivers to pass three
tests
to be issued their first driver’s license. These tests include the following:

· Vision test

· Written test

· Driving test

The fee for the vision and written testing is $20. The fee for the license itself is $5 for those under 20, and $10 for adults over 20.

Teen drivers have to start by getting a learner’s permit, which they can get when they turn 15. They must also complete a driver education course through their school or some other state approved driving school. Part of the requirements of the course will be 25 hours of supervised driving time.

Those who successfully complete the driver’s education program and have turned 16 can receive an initial license, which has some restrictions on it. The full license is available for those who are 18 or over.

Those applying for their first Illinois license will need to bring four proofs of identity, one verifying the applicant’s written signature, one with the applicant’s date of birth, one with the applicant’s Social Security number, and one which proves residency.
