What are the Illinois Vehicle Registration and Title Requirements?

Answer:
To register a vehicle and transfer the title in Illinois,
all you have to bring to the DMV office is the old title. The title must contain the following pieces of information:

· Correct odometer reading

· Correct VIN number

· Seller information completed and signed

· Date of sale

You must fill out the Application for Vehicle Title and Registration, which is only available at the DMV office. The cost to register passenger cars and small trucks is $78, and the fee for the title is $65.

You will also have to pay the taxes on the vehicle. Taxes are based on the sale price of the vehicle, or the age, make, and model of the vehicle if you paid less than $15,000 for it. The DMV does not accept credit cards.
