What are the Massachusetts Vehicle Registration and Title Requirements?

Answer:
To register and title a vehicle in the state of Massachusetts,
you will need to bring the following documents to the RMV office:

· Old title or Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin

· Application for Registration and Title (form RMV-1)

· Proof of insurance

· Bill of sale (for non-titled vehicles)

Vehicles that were manufactured before 1980 are not required to be titled. Any other vehicles must be titled, and the fee is $50.

The fee for registration in Massachusetts starts at $36. Renewal for normal passenger plates is $41. You will also have to pay all taxes at the time of registration, unless you paid them at the dealership when you purchased the vehicle.
