What are the Michigan Drivers License Requirements?

Answer:
There are three exams that all Michigan
drivers must pass before being issued a license. These are as follows:

· Vision exam

· Written test

· Road skills test

The fee for a license in Michigan is $25. However, the state does not administer the road skills test, and the examiner may charge a fee for this.

Those who are over 18 can get a full driver’s license in Michigan. Proof of residence, proof of identity, and proof of Social Security number are the required documents that applicants must have.

Also, any applicant who is over 18 must first apply for a temporary instruction permit and have 30 days of practice driving before applying for a license. Teens can begin working their way through the graduated license program at age 14 and 9 months. This is when they are able to get the level one learner’s license. This allows them to take driver’s education.

At age 16, provided the driver has had the level one learner’s license for at least six months, the teen driver can get the intermediate license after passing the road skill test. This license allows them to drive unsupervised during certain hours. Those who have had the Level 2 license for at least six months will automatically be given a full license at age 17.
