What are the Nevada Vehicle Registration and Title Requirements?

If you need to title and register a vehicle in Nevada,

you will need to present the following documents at the DMV office:

· Previous title, signed over to you, or Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin

· Bill of Sale

· Application for Nevada Certificate of Title

· Dealer report of sale, if applicable

· VIN verification form

· Proof of insurance

· Emissions certificate (in some counties)

· Odometer verification

The fee to title a vehicle is $20. The registration fees for personal vehicles start at $33, but these are dependent on the weight of the vehicle.

There is a calculator at https://dmvapp.state.nv.us/estimate.asp that can be used to determine the registration fee for your particular vehicle. You are also responsible for the sales tax on your car when you register it. Registration must occur within 30 days of purchase.
