What are the New Mexico Drivers License Requirements?

Answer:
Applicants for a New Mexico driver’s license
are required to complete three tests, which are as follows:

· Written test

· Vision test

· Road test

The fee for a four-year license is $18.

All applicants must bring a Social Security card and two proofs of residency when applying. The learner’s permit is available at age 15. After getting a learner’s permit, teen drivers must complete driver’s education before applying for a license.

During the driver’s education, these teen drivers will complete 50 hours of supervised driving. They can then apply for a provisional license, and if they hold it for six months without any problems they will be issued a regular license. Drivers between 18 and 24 do not have to take driver’s education, but they must complete the DWI awareness program entitled “None for the Road.”
