What are the Vermont Vehicle Registration and Title Requirements?

Answer:
In order to title and register a vehicle in the state
of Vermont, you must submit the following to the DMV office in your area:


· Vermont Registration, Tax and Title Application

· Old title or Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin

· Bill of sale

 · Odometer Disclosure Statement


If you purchase your vehicle in Canada, you also must submit a New Vehicle Information Statement. The fee for a title is $28. Gas powered vehicles cost $60 to register in Vermont.

You will also pay sales tax on the vehicle based on the purchase price listed on the bill of sale. Within 
15 days of registering your vehicle you are required to have it inspected. In order to have it inspected you will have to have proof of insurance.
