What is a Restricted Drivers License?

Answer:
Just like it sounds,  Restricted Drivers License
is issued to restrict a driver's privileges.  Each State is different in their reasoning or laws behind issueing restricted licenses but there are a few common occurrences.

A Learners Permit can be considered a restricted drivers license.  With a learners permit, you are learning how to operate a motor vehicle therefore, instead of jumping in head first your State want's  you to work your way into full-time driving.  Additionally, in order to receive your learners permit you must complete either driving and/or written tests and drive a certain amount of time with an adult.

These restrictions are for your benefit, the publics benefit and the Insurance Companies benefit.

You may be issued a restricted license due to your driving history. If you have a history of accidents, speeding tickets or drunk driving charges then your State will either issue a restricted drivers license, suspend your drivers license or simply revoke your license all together.
