Where do I get my Drivers License?

The government agency you receive your driver’s license
from depends on which state you live in. It is generally the responsibility of the DMV or Department of Motor Vehicles to verify your age, identity, capability to drive a vehicle and then issue you a with driver’s license.

But depending on the state you live in, this could be done by DMVs with different names and positions in the government: in Ohio, for example, you get your license from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, whereas in Oklahoma you get it done from the Department of Public Safety.

Generally speaking, to get your drivers license you will have to pass a vision, written and possibly a driving test.  There are individual fees associated with the exams and depending on your age or circumstance you will need to contact your drivers license bureau to see what your process will be.

If you are a student driver or in driving school ask your teacher the most appropriate route to receiving your drivers license.  Please note that depending on your State there are fees associated with testing and printing the license.
